Also, just want to clear this up as well: You can still drink beer on the back stretch, you just can not BYOB.
It is not meant to be an infringement on anyone's experience or privacy. They are only looking for alcoholic beverages...so, if you pop your trunk and it has 4 illegal immigrants, the president, 3 stolen flat screen TV's, Oprah, and a dead cat.....that's really not any of our business...as long as there is no alcohol in there!!
I could sit here and type for hours and explain the whos/whats/whys, but people will still disagree and not fully understand the law, policies, and consequences.
Thank you for your understanding.
I would certainly never ask anyone to come here and type for hours because 1) that would be unreasonable and 2) I understand the laws and consequences because I attended a mandatory class at the casino as a supervisor given by Indiana Excise Police regarding more than I ever want to know about liquor laws and penalties in Indiana.
I do have one simple question though that should only take a few seconds of typing to answer: Was there a permit available to the racetrack or offered that would have allowed carry in alcohol for the backstretch by designating the grandstand area as the drinking area rather than the whole racetrack?
