I had no idea that "Doc" had passed on. Met and enjoyed a long conversation with him by the Manzanita beer stand as we awaited the end of a passing shower. Regretably, my only visit to the Manzanita half-mile. Was supposed to have been a 3 night CRA Wingless Western deal but Frank Lewis (CRA boss) and Keith Hall (Manzy promoter) had a disagreement about back gate receipts split resulting in a 2 night unsanctioned show. Brad Noffsinger won on Fri. night and "The Gas Man" took the Sat. night bucks. Anyway, with just that single meeting, I found Doc to be a super nice guy with a great sense of humor.
Hope this is a successful event and becomes an annual race on the Orange Show Stadioum calendar. R.I.P. Doc.
