While I love auto racing and this all sounds nice and peachy in the short term, this is a terrible idea long term. With the addition of casinos to the horse tracks in Ohio, Indiana tracks are already losing some horses to competing tracks. If this bill passes and then they cut the horse racing dates from 160 days for each breed (standard and thoroughbred) to 90 days each, the two "racinos" in the state would have a hard time keeping their head above water. IMS needs to be putting more on the table for this to be logical. The two "racinos" employ thousands of people and bring in MILLIONS of dollars to the state economy. What happens if you cut race dates and purses to both places? I don't think that is a road this state really wants to go down.
