I believe we all have DA horror stories, myself included. I too was at the KISS race you were referring to Dan. My recollection is that particular program was dumped in Tim Wolfe's lap (the person in charge) just a few days before the race was to be held. Yes, the car count was low and if I recall correctly, in a stroke of genius, not only did DA schedule the sprint show against nearby Lawrenceburg Speedway, but against his other Indiana track (LPS) which started 21 sprinters in their feature that night.

I was at the driver's meeting and it was the racers who voted and made the final decision to go ahead and run that night. I believe Jon Stanbrough (surprise, surprise) won the feature with some other outstanding performances turned in by Robert Ballou, Brady Short and Kyle Cummins. I recall one of the drivers coming up to me as I was signing in telling me I had as many pushtrucks as there were sprint cars. (A slight exageration, the count was actually 2 to 1... in favor of the sprinters)

If you saw the famous white sububan, it was probably the one driven by DA's wife Robin that night, as she was the person handling the payout. DA was not there, he was with his son Josh at an ARCA race at Kentucky Speedway that night. All of this said... that was then and this is now.

I believe Twin Cities Raceway Park is in much better hands with the Fleetwoods leasing the facility for the season than it would have ever been in DA's hands. I applaud their efforts to keep that track alive and I applaud their courage in working with Dave Rudisell from Lawrenceburg Speedway to bring sprints back to Twin Cities. It is good to see two competitors working together with the best interest of the racers and race fans in mind.

I agree, I too do not want to support DA, however, in this case, I do want to support Dave Rudisell, the racers, and the Fleetwoods and I appreciate what they are doing for sprint car racing in Indiana. Keep up the good work. :applaud:
