Maybe I shouldn't be commenting since I won't have a dog in the mini sprint fight this year. I do not understand this mentality of "splitting up the purse will lead to more start and park drivers". The only way I will pull off the track is if I am having a problem or pose a danger to the other cars on the track. I will race just as hard on the last lap to finish 19th insted of 20th as I will to finish first insted of second. More money in the back of the field over the course of a season might just might be the difference between having the funds for one more race a year and sitting one out but it certainly won't make me pull off if I'm in 11th or stop fighting for one more spot. Money is the last thing on my mind when I'm in the cockpit but a big concern when I'm back at the shop. That being said, to the victor go the spoils so the winner should be making something more than $10 or $15 more than 2nd but that doesn't mean those big bucks can't be passed down the ladder just a bit more. An extra $150 over a season would have bought me enough methanol for 10 more races in the mini.
