RW Motorsports is excited to announce Kevin Thomas Jr. as the 17RW National Sprint Car driver for the 2013 United States Auto Club (USAC) season. Kevin Thomas Jr. started his racing career in BMX bicycles at just eight years old, and since then has carved a space for himself within the racing community. Kevin will make his debut with the team as the AMSOIL National Sprint Car season kicks off with three consecutive nights of racing, February 21st – 23rd, at the 3/8 dirt Bubba Raceway Park oval in Ocala, Florida.

Kevin is a valuable addition to the team, from 2007 to 2010, in the 410 non-wing sprint car, Kevin captured 27 top five finishes. He continued into 2011 with the same momentum, capturing two feature wins, 12 top five finishes, and winning the Northern Sprint Nationals. Last year, as a rookie owner and driver of his own USAC Sprint Car team, Kevin earned a victory during Indiana Sprint Week, track records, numerous podiums finishes, and a top ten in the year end standings.

"I'm really excited to be a part of this team. Everyone that's involved is on the same page and has the same goal – and that goal is winning! It's a first class operation and I'm going to give it my best shot to win another championship for these guys! It's just an honor to have an opportunity like this and I'm going to make the best of it! These deals don't happen every day. I couldn't be more thankful right now," said Thomas Jr.

Michael Dutcher, co-owner of the 17RW car with Steven Weirich and Scott Ritchhart, shared his thoughts on Kevin Thomas and the upcoming season, “I'm extremely excited about the 2013 Sprint Car season! After such a remarkable and successful 2012, in which we were able to capture the USAC National Sprint Car Championship and the USAC Silver Crown Car Owners Championship – it's great to be able to continue my long standing relationship with Steve Weirich and RW Motorsports. 2013 will be my first venture into the car owners aspect of the sport, so not only will I crew chief the team, but Michael Dutcher Motorsports and RW Motorsports have partnered with Scott Ritchhart at Tri Star Motorsports to form this very potent team. We have hired one of the most talented young sprint car drivers in America with Kevin Thomas Jr. Kevin has a passion for sprint car racing that I believe will not only make him a consistent winner but also a champion! In addition, we have hired one of my best friends and one of the best all-around open wheel mechanics, AJ Bray, as my car chief, whom I was teamed up with in 2012 during our championship season. Blackjack Oil will be on board as the primary sponsor. Kevin Thomas Jr, AJ Bray and I will go down the road and pull through the pit gate each night with one mission, to win as many races as we can and win the USAC national Sprint Car Championship!”
