I would sure pay $100.00 for a ticket to see this race again today, come to think of it it would probably be more like $250.00 or so with inflation figured in.
Many of these guys also raced in the Indy 500, and that was cool back then.
Less we forget these cars did not have much roll bar and skinny big old hard tires, you don't hear about a guy blistering a tire anymore but they sure did back then. What was neat back then was watching a rookie light up those slicks coming off # 4 at Salem from up on the bridge. Don't think they had OSHA back then?
