Kyle Larson started 6th in his heat race by virtue of 3rd fast time and was leading coming out of turn 2. Zach Daum grabbed the early lead in the feature, but Kyle got by him fairly early. Time trials were rather interesting. Early fast time was Clauson in the Kunz 67 at 14.398. Larson came out 17th in the Kunz 71 at 14.178. Rico came out 18th in the Kunz 67K and turned 14.145. A Kunz sweep? Not while the RFMS 3 was still waiting. Hagen came out 24th and ran 14.090. Daum then ran 14.227 and Bernal 14.194 in the Ford #73 to complete the fast six.

56 Sweet blew up, 5 Zach Daum blew with 2-3 to go while running 3rd. Dave Darland,s luck at Canyon continued. Early in the race, Rico Abreu started to spin between 3 & 4. Dave was right behind and tapped him. This straightened Rico out and he continued but Dave came to a halt because of the incident.
