Another entertaining evening of racing at Gas City tonight. A very heavy and fast track this evening after some late morning showers. Coleman started 7th and tried the bottom for about 5 laps without much success. Took it to the top and held his position for about another 5 laps or so.
He then mounted a charge and picked them off one by one. He took the lead from 5th starting Scotty Weir with about 10 remaining and distanced himself from the field. A couple of narrow experiences almost caught up with him as he battled with the rear of the field.
A late caution with a couple of laps left bunched the field and the Iceman was able to hold off the charge of Weir and Hopkins for the victory. A nice run for Billy Puterbaugh Jr with a 4th place finish after starting 9th in the Edison 10e. Travis Welpott brought the #18 home in 5th place.
A decent crowd on hand considering that Mississinewa and Blackford, two local high schools were engaged in a CIC conference football game this evening.
