I had a buddy that was doing a sportsman focus direct drive...he had to space the block out from the motor plate a bit and make a Ujoint adaptor...I then used the exact same adaptor on a ford 2300 pinto/mustang motor without spacing the block forward...I did have to redrill and thread the holes in the crank flange to make a standard allen head bolt work in them but the pattern was the same...so you will need a Ujoint adaptor but I am betting that an Esslinger adaptor will work. Don't know for sure but It seems like somebody else with a 2300 stockblock motor had purchased an adaptor from esslinger.
