I would think that would be better for I-96 also since it would give them another day to prep the track for the USAC show after they had the big block modifieds last night. Too late to change now, but I was wondering why they didn't race on their regular nights.

We all know for the general race fan that Saturday's are the most desirable days for short track racing and getting fans to travel a long distance to get to places that don't normally host such unique events such as USAC.

Hartford decided to try make the Saturday race, and only once Hartford signed the deal with USAC did I-96 decide they wanted a race too, but since Hartford already had the Saturday, USAC wanted to make it a double header weekend which forced I-96 into a Friday or Sunday event. Believing that Friday would be in the best interest of generating a higher car count before Hartford, they went with Friday.
