A quick update from last night. The Billy Joe Jim Bob Bait Shop and Seafood Restaurant Special had a good night in the HOSS race at New Paris Speedway. The new car this year has been a struggle to say the least. We ended up finding we had a couple of bad shocks and with some help from AJ at Infinity Shocks and a quick turn around time on some shock repairs, the car started to come to life.
Jim again lost the coin toss and had to drive. He was ninth quick out of a strong 18 car field in the first hot lap session. And we still had used tires on. But some bad set up decisions by me landed him only 11th quick in qualifying. The field was so tight on time that if we would just been 1/10 of a second faster, we would of been 6th quick and we would of started on the pole of the feature.
The feature was very eventful and Jim drove a very strong race and finished 7th. It may not sound like much to some of you, but with the struggles we have had this year, a strong finish was very satisfying.
I'd like to also congradulate Geoff Kaiser from HOSS and Jason Blonde from MSR. Both these guys just came back from serious injuries to have good runs last night. Geoff had fast time and finished a very close second in the feature after starting sixth. And Jason won at Kalamazoo with MSR. Great job guys!
We are off to Canada next week and we are really looking forward to the trip. More to come!
