This isn't the first accident at an indoor karting facility in Indy. Around 2000-2001 car owner Gary Zauronian lacerated his liver at Stephan Johansenns after hitting one of the guardrails. He was pretty F-ed up for a long while afterwards. I'm pretty sure he required surgery.
