Your rear roll center stays in the same place relative to the frame no matter what the ride height is set at...the ladder straps are made to keep the axle centered regardless of what angle they are at....but by changing the pick-up point where the ladder meets the birdcage you are changing the rear roll center drastically...level with the axle is neutral...above the axle centerline will free up the rear and below the axle centerline will tighten the car up considerably.....If I was you I would go back to the middle setting to gauge how the ride height adjustment affected the handling...if not you will never really know what did what because you made 2 adjustments at once....the angles of the straps are not crucial as long as the straps are equal length....those strap angles are constantly changing as the suspension works, car leans over, driver gets in or out, etc etc so trying to make them level when the car is sitting still really has no bearing on anything else.
