From an engine builder standpoint they have just obsoleted all the fuel data we have ever accumulated over the 40 years weve been running Methanol . i.e. BSFC numbers no longer apply, niether does egt, or O2 sensor readings. Increases in ex temp have and WILL make engines hard to cool on the race track. And to be truthfull you can make it work BUT it may or maynot be the optimized fuel for the heads, for the injectors, or for the camshafts that are currently being used. I have told my customers to take a wait and see attitude. Sprint cars think about this 10,000.00 to win mscs at tri state. What are we going to do, tote both fuels for the USAC guys drain the bladder, nozzles etc. I Have NO problem with the E90 as Ignite calls it,just DON'T mandate it. My SC customers don't have the budget to properly develop such a change and apparently niether does USAC. Although Toyota might. From a usage standpoint this fuel is a lot closer to gasoline than methanol. This post is just my opinion with the experience that I have. There is no truth just perseption.

It's all about "COMPETITION" !!!!!

Why not make "Corn Liquor" an option? If it is indeed as good as the "hype" placed upon it by the "Powers that be" just make it optional.
Racers race for that competitive advantage over one another. Telling them that this it what they are going to have to do does not set well with most of them.

If "Corn Liquor" is all that good and the hold out's get their Butts spanked good once or twice by these "GREEN MACHINES" I can guarantee $6.00 or even $20.00 a gallon isn't going to keep these guys up from switching over to the stuff. If the Green racers don't do so good, then Ethanol will just fall by the way side as a well intended experiment that didn't work out.

Maybe USAC is just following the lead of our Federal government and telling the "Racers" to do what "USAC" knows is best for them to do, gota just love it when we have a few really really smart people looking out for our best intrest and the intrest of the sport.

Wonder if they could "mandate" that only pure "castor bean oil" be used as an upper cylinder lube, Then at least we would have the smell "of old time racing"
