Stockracer is spot on in regards to ethanol and by-product feed sources.

If ya'll want to be concerned about something that is costing you money and is ag related I'd say ya' might look to the fairly sizable government checks that go out to nearly all grain farm operators, especially the big ones, every October.

The next time you ride down the road on the way to the races and see a 24 row planter or a combine and auger wagon rolling through the field along with two or three semi's pulling big hopper bottom grain trailers settin' on the end of that field, take heart. A chunk of your tax dollars is represented by all that stuff. And believe me, many of these guys could buy and sell the Average Joe on a slow day. Many times over, in fact.

Sorry to get off subject, but I thought I'd chime in on the last post. The diversion of feed grain to ethanol production in fact isn't costing much in the way of increased food costs.
