Cody - outstanding job of not only reporting your findings, but of maintaining your professional approach - you do that in the seat and at the keyboard.

I was interested to hear about how you had to restrict airflow to get temp. Traditional USAC engines rely on some very fixed subsytems (mechanical injection, fixed ignition, no thermostat, etc) I'm sure your builder is looking at that data and realizing that there is still some power left on the table. Thats good news.

Finally, I was wondering what the approved procedures for fighting an ethanol fire are, and do they differ from methanol? I remember the race in Florida a few years ago when Hotrod had that bad fire and it just made me wonder if the crews will be prepared for the change? I guess the fact that they'll carry less fuel is a positive from the safety perspective at least...
