It's not Portsmouth Raceway Park...It's the same old Southern Ohio Speedway (also has been Southern Ohio Raceway) that's been there for 40 years or so... Been mostly dead and dormant for the better part of 10 years. The place was a pasture last April yet! The guys that previously had Rocky Top Raceway got the lease and through a ton of hard work, they were running weekly shows a few months later. The lighting isn't the greatest yet (never was), but they've moved mountains in a very short time to get it to being better than it was 15 years ago.

From the BOSS website over the winter...
For 2012, all three tire manufacturers have agreed to stay on board as series sponsors for the new season and the series will keep its open tire rule in place. The same rule as last year will be in affect, where teams must use the same right rear tire in the heat and feature event.
Also remaining the same, and continuing in the "outlaw" tradition, there will be no membership fees or entry fees for 2012 and no minimum weight rule. There will still be several bonus awards paid out at each event and those awards are being negotiated with sponsors currently.
The standard show purse will remain the same as the 2011 shows which will be as follows: 1) $1200, 2) $800, 3) $600, 4) $500, 5) $450, 6) $400, 7) $375, 8) $350, 9) $325, 10) $300, 11) $280, 12) $260, 13) $250, 14) $240, 15-20) $225 to start. $100 tow money to any team who makes an honest attempt at racing in the program but fails to make the feature event.
The standard purse will be the minimum pay at any track, but several tracks are negotiating payouts that could be slightly higher for their shows. Complete payouts will be posted for each event when the schedule is released.
I imagine the Burg shows will basically be almost like a weekly show, with the exception of the lack of a tire rule, and some more cars.
