One year and 12 days ago the announcement that Kyle Larson was going to drive midgets for Keith Kunz was posted on IOW. 53 weeks and 5 days from "Kyle who" to a NASCAR development contract, and not a contract with just any old team. One of my comments at the time was that I hoped he could get a few sprint rides. I guess that worked out pretty well.
I certainly wish him the best and am glad that we got to watch him for a year in the Midwest. I hope that he comes back whenever he can to race open wheel. Lets not forget, however, that we still get to watch great drivers. It was BC who came out on top of IMW and the great midget race at Putnamville. So many of the races which Kyle won were exciting because he had great battles to win, and so many of the races he didn't win were exciting because of the battle with other excellent drivers.
I am happy for Kyle, but look forward to another great year of racing with all the talented drivers we get to watch week in and week out. See you at the races.
