I knew a racer who’s name was
Donnie Ray
He loved dirt track racing on a surface
called clay.
He made many left turns in his life after
the green flag and light.
A person who was kind, caring, friendly,
and most of all polite.
Something happened that took you away.
It was on this Chili Bowl Day
All the fans are shocked indeed!
But the treasures you’ve left us will
succeed.
Even though it’s hard for each of us here;
you’ve seen the checkered flag and won
the race of life!
That checkered flag is Heaven so dear!
That’s why each fan here.
Knows you’re still really near.
