Indy Lights and USAC Silver Crown and Sprint Car driver Jacob Wilson of Crawsfordsville, Indiana will make his return to the Allen County Exposition Center for the upcoming Rumble Midget Series December 30-31. Wilson will be piloting a car entered by Moore Racing Enterprises of LaGrange, Ohio. Wilson, who has been absent from the series for several years, will be subbing for Geoff Kaiser of Fort Wayne, Indiana who is still recovering from a freak racing accident a few months ago. Kaiser will take over managing the team along with mechanic Clint Wilson, Jacob's younger brother.
Wilson is no stranger to the Moore Racing stable as he has two outdoor victories the past two seasons driving for owner Don Moore. "When Geoff Kaiser had his accident, it was a no brainer to put Jacob in the car. He and Kaiser are two of the best pavement specialists in the country," said Moore.
Wilson will be behind the wheel of a Beast midget that was built for Kenny Irwin, Jr. in the early 90's. The car won the Mel Kenyon Classic at Indianapolis Raceway Park in 1993 with a Pontiac engine. That race can be viewed on YouTube. That same car also won the 2002 Fort Wayne event.
