I thought this was well worth mentioning that Lou Palmer passed away over the weekend. Lou worked for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and eventually became the Voice of the Indianapolis 500. On Speedway practice days I would anxiously await his very detailed reports which would come twice every hour that the track was open for practice. He was the first one to tell me of Tom Sneva's 200+ qualification laps, the first to tell of Jan Opperman's ride with Vel's Parnelli Jones and the first time I heard the name Lynn Reid was also from Lou.
Lou had a great speaking voice, was one of the best at what he did and I will miss him.
