When the tour came to Lucas Oil speedway in Wheatland, MO that year they found an extremely hooked up rough tacky nasty track was waiting for them...Justin Grant ran a 360 and I am pretty sure he ran top 5 that night behind Bacon and Ballou and ahead of several other big motors...
There is never such a thing as "too much horsepower" in racing...ask any driver if he would rather have 100 more or give away 100hp....but in non wing sprint car racing the motor is less important than any other type of racecar....
Justin had an aluminum 410 that race and most of the guys running 360s crashed and were not very competitive because the track was very heavy. 360's would be ok at small slick tracks, like Putnamville or Paragon. Anywhere else and you begin to put yourself at a huge disadvantage, not only with power, but the weight.
