I too am a great proponent of non wing sprint racing. Unfortunately the St Louis metro does not have the non wing culture to support it. There are neither the cars nor the fans necessary. Zeromotorsports' post "st louis sprint car drivers" illustrates the lack of cars. A glance at stlracing.com's forums shows the lack of enthusiasm for any race car devoid of fenders and doors. The hand full of IL/MO drivers who will run wingless were not enough to sustain Jacksonville Speedway's wingless weekly shows, SCORA or ASCT. MSCS once had some races in Illinois. Grain Valley Speedway near Kansas City runs an open non wing 305, 360, 410 weekly show and cannot get a 20 car field. Farmer City and Danville have the location to draw Indiana cars and make a go of it. We have supported non wing racing at every opportunity only to have it crumble away prior to the season's end. Our optimism still outweighs our pessimism. It is always nice to mount up some DT-3s and leave the wings in the shop.
