As soon as I heard the sprint A-main was third I figured those were most likely the reasons. I'm sure the rain had the track tacky and the two features before the sprints helped to work it in.

Heck, Brownstown did the same thing a couple of weeks back and ran the Mini-Sprints before the USAC feature for the same reason.
