Actually I've come to really dislike the super slick quarter huggy pole racing. However a bigger banked slicky isn't to bad if it isn't to dusty.
Also its not much fun watching twenty guys do qualifying laps for 30 laps with no passing on a super tacky one groove. Racing? In name only.
However Ive seen surprises on both types and its what makes racing great. Expecially if one driver/team figures out something the others didn't and makes a run.
Two of the races I seen last year were slickies and both times the winner fell way back before winning. These were Brownstown sprint week and Fall PVille USAC. Exciting and unexpected aren't the words. UNREAL is more like it!
Two or more grooves all night is hard to achieve, But when it happens. Now thats racin. Say what you will about bloomington but when two or more cars battle side by side for muliple laps. One precision bottom driving and the other balls out biking on the cushion.
PRICELESS and don't stop going till you see it! Once in ten races is worth every penny.
