You get 1 1/2 points per car passed in the heat and qualifier race. Plus the points per position 55 for 1st, 52 for 2nd, 49, 46, 43, 40, 37, 34, 31, 28. They usually take the top 32 in points to the qualifing races, and everyone else has to run the non qualifier race with the top 2 from each non quailifer race to the tail of each quailifer. Then they add the points from the heat and the qualifier race together. Thats how it has been done in the past.
