if it was so amazing and the cars were so fast and the racing was so awesome, how come all the drivers hated it?
I will paraphrase Tommy Helfrich from an article in Flat Out. Drivers are by nature not interested in whats best for the fans. The kind of tracks I like as a fan make a lot unhappy. No dust. no rubber on the track, big ol cushion. Maybe even a little rough. Sorry that is what attracted me to the sport as a kid. I had been going to sprint car for 15 years and the first time I saw rubber down on a dirt track was my first Hoosier 100. (daytime 1978)
