I think part of the touchyness on scheduling against other tracks is that LPS runs every Saturday night and has for many years. So that means they have ran against USAC, MSCS, KISS and the other tracks. Not because their trying to hose the other groups but because LPS is a weekly track. SO many seem to think it's done on purpose and I don't think it's that way.
I fact I have heard that a reason LPS didn't get into ISW this year is that LPS ran their weekly race against a USAC race last fall. The race weekend in the question was planned as LPS had USAC Sprints on Friday before USAC Sprints at THAT to hopefully increase car count for both track and still run the LPS normal Saturday event.
So Jerry that might have a little to do with the touchyness of your question.
As far as rain, most went south of the track and isn't anything to the west, so it should be a great night for racing.
