Let's have a round of applause for Michigan's Spartan Speedway that chose to start a new class of cars, wingless sprints, last season. Class has proven popular with fans and nineteen cars turned out for last Friday's opener. Racing was great and a young woman, Taylor Ferns, 15, finished second in the feature. She will also be running USAC midgets this summer.
