I'm all in favor of any measures which would improve the USAC racing experience for competitors, promoters, fans, or anyone else with an interest, vested or otherwise. And I will look forward with cautious optimism unless/until the Kevin Miller administration proves to be incapable of fine tuning the product. That said, as an "old" (according to Dwight :icon_smile_blackeye) traditionalist, I just hope they don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. I agree 100% with the first part of His Royal Robin's opening line, "For as long as anyone can remember USAC has always featured the best racing". Being just a fan, I'll leave the second part, "and worst leadership on the planet" for others to evaluate. Except to state my opinion that Greg Staab has done a great job with the sprint car (my favorite by far) division. Ditto the flagmen, announcer, RDS2 (Ron), and several others, at least from where I sit.

One part of the article giving me some pause is the note that Miller grew up watching sprints cars but admits he wanted to be Mark Donohue. Hmmm, nothing against the great Mark Donohue, but I hope he doesn't think the euro formula so successful  with Indy cars can do wonders for USAC competition. I've been through the rear engined sprint car experience once. It nearly killed pavement racing for a time. It took Rich Vogler and Hoffman racing to revive it. If you think the USAC faithful were less than supportive of the new and improved Silver Crown car, just wait until they get a load of euro formula sprint cars and the baggage they bring with them.

Then again, I could be wrong......been married twice......we shall see what we shall see. Just my cautiously optimistic opinion.
