Dave Baumgartner: any tire has a hard time lasting at salem when u run that hard my tires were good and ran them from first hot lap session to the end of feature = 500 dollar tire bill was real nice.
Sam Brooks: Did the Hoosiers do that last year? I wasn't there, so.......
Dave Baumgartner: Yes and last year at winchester the cords were showing on both rears and rr was coming apart all I like either hoosier or american race tire as long as they are as cheap as they are now they will figure it out but I think the world of irish and all the guys at hoosier also so I also don't want to mislead anybody
Ryan Litt: aarons tire & mine were f'd ... plain and simple. whatever they said before the season started wasn't true. we prob couldnt of gone 5 more laps...
Dave Baumgartner: But remember ryan hoosiers do the same thing it is hard to get any tire to last at those two tracks and it was 88 degrees and a lot of sun so do give up yet dude let them work on it they will get better tire bills will be lower that what I am looking at
Ryan Litt: either way, we got told before the season they lasted 50 laps and up, could be run for 2 or 3 races. i blistered my LR in 2nd practice
Dave Baumgartner: Like I said weather helps a lot and that kid in blakes car is the one who did that at winchester and remember blonde set that record with tires with a boat load of laps on them camera done lie I don't want to argue about this I am happy the tire bills are cheaper I can't afford a 1000 a night tire bill that is not acceptable
Sam Brooks: All I meant on the board was that I was a little disappointed at the end result from a performance standpoint. The AR's less $$ per set regardless. And if the wear is equal, then it's a savings. I guess I was expecting too much, which is my fault. Ryan and Dave have TONS more knowledge than I on winged pavement racing. Dave Baumgartner: Ya they will figure it out I have had a lot of bad luck with hoosiers and also good to all I know is that them tires on the top three cars were on from qualifying heat race and feature and not sure if they had any hot laps on them a hoosier would have never mad it all those laps period end of story
