OK.. Here is my take on what has been posted on this thread and the D1 Series USAC Midgets. First of all, we plan to run several of these races. We have very few choices these days, so we will see how this series plays out. There has been very little (that I know of) publicity about this series from the creators, so we will see what lies ahead. I've tried to piece together what I know about it, so here goes:

BTW... What does D1 stand for????

First off.... Several posters on IOW have called this series a low budget deal or for low budget teams. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Would somebody please come forward and tell us all what is low budget about it??? Yeah, what is it that's low budget? TIRES?? NO! The purple tire SP2 which lasts about one race these days is the mandated tire of choice for this series..... same tire and SAME PRICE as used in the USAC National Series, so cross that off your list. Yep, get out your wallet and pay the price.

Engines. hahahahahahahahahaha I'm totally confused here. The national series is using a rev limiter to help keep the costs down. So... is that being used in this D1 series? NO!!! Sounds to me like that's sending anything but a low budget message.

Location of races. There are several dirt races in Indiana but if it's low budget, who can afford to travel to Sun Prairie for all those races, pay all the Illinois and Chicago tolls plus $4+++ gasoline/diesel.

Low budget teams participating. You have got to be kidding here. LOLOLOLOLOL I was at the Toledo Silver Crown/regional pavement midget show last October. hahahahahahaha Low budget teams?? I don't think so. If fact, you will probably see some really expensive rent/lease a rides, sugar daddies that are paying somebody 6 figures for season midget rides. Low budget again.... I'm on the floor laughing!!

Now here is the only low budget scenario that I can find for this series and that is the purse and the personnel. I have not seen a published purse but if it's similar to last years payout, it will be a low budget purse for sure. SURPRISE!!! And you will not see the famous 18 wheeler at these races nor 10-15 officials falling all over each other or racing around on golf carts. Probably 1-2 pit stewards and that's it. Line em up... race.... throw the checkered.... and... out of town they go.

Low budget???? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
