What kind of following does this series expect to have? Obviously they (USAC) wouldn't go into a business venture like that without having some idea of the support they would get. Montpelier is what I consider my home track, even though I now live over 2 hours away from it, and I'm wondering how successful the 5 shows they have with this series will be. They've had a history of being burned by new series or promotors before (X2RA, ASCT, ICS Crate late models, and the world famous "X-Plex"). I know in this area promotors seem to be under the impression that anything to do with USAC or sprint cars will turn to gold, but last year when they had the focus series they barely had enough cars for a heat race. Now they have not only the focus series, but they have the focus "young guns" that they are also packaging together with the D1 and Ford Focus Series events. Montpelier did get a decent group of midgets last year with the AMCT, but quite a few of them were mini-sprints. Not trying to pass judgement on the group before they have even started, but I'm curious about what my home track is going to get out of this.
