I didn't see the motor blow (was at work streaming), but the #30 is actually a 39 year old. He lives about a half hour from me. Has the midas touch, with his business just not in racing!

I hope the kid shows up at the Illinois dirt tracks in August and September where the big money and high priced crew members doesn't mean quite as much and see how good the kid really is.
I'd say Kimmel sure hasn't had much success since he left the high dollar (ARCA) team of Larry Clements. Of course this was before the Cup level satellite teams invaded the series and every other car is either low dollar junk or a high priced rental. Ty Dillon actually seems to do fairly well on dirt, he won the modified gaternationals this year, 2 wins and he's been driving a super on dirt as well. If you wanna hate on rich kids, look at his teammate Tim George Jr. He's got the wall street banker daddy who keeps funding him so he can wreck every week.

I don't care for the rich priviledged racing, but at least the Dillon brothers race mod's and late models on dirt every few weeks.

Just noticed my basically duplicate post of racerdog45's.

This is Ty Dillon at Volunteer Speedway in a crate race back in 2008. He finished 3rd. High banked track for those who've never been there.

But I guess I would agree I don't like seeing those ARCA kids only run the speedway races. It happens with Toledo every year as well as the mile fairgrounds tracks.
