Was I happy with the way the night/morning went overall? Well, no. But we did eventually get to see a classic finish to the sprint feature. I also got to see some of the kids who had raced at Pike County in micro sprints when I worked there (The Fitzpatricks, Dakota Jackson, and Max McGhee). Most of all, I got to go on another racing roadtrip with my dad, and I know that a lot of folks no longer have a chance to do that with their old man.
Bottom line, we're all kind of ticked off right now, but years down the road, we'll laugh about the night the ambulance got stuck, the lights went out, and "Double-D" pulled the proverbial rabbit out of the hat to pick up a win.
