For what its worth, here is my opinion. I don’t know Mason personally, but he seems to be a very nice guy and really wanted to make the weekend work. I will throw Friday night out and just talk about Saturday. I think we have some serious die hard sprint car fans. If this race had been later in the season, I think people would have a different opinion of the race. I see on here all the time people complain about track prep, race times, how the races are drug out, etc. But everyone is so ready to see a race, everything is being overlooked. If we had gotten out of a USAC race that late, the message board would be lit up like a Christmas tree. Yes, there are complaints on here about the format and track conditions. But the overall consensus is, it was a grat night. I disagree. There was no organization at all. From pushing off all the cars to wheel pack and then have to come back and push them all off again for hot laps. Even when we went to the infield to qualify, they just pushed off whoever came up. Pushing 2 cars on the track at a time to start each race is ridiculous. I give you fans a ton of credit for sitting through the cold, putting up with a fight in the stands, sitting through a demolition derby, and watching us drive our asses of on a track with no passing. I want to support anyone that puts on a high paying open wheel show. We need more races like that and more guys like Mason to stand up at a drivers meeting and say they are going to try and get a race in instead of pulling the plug right away when it rains. But there has to be some organization with that many cars and that many divisions.
