One thing I feel certain of the current track records will be broken, many in the supermodified ranks believe Mike Lichty and/or Brad Noffsinger will break Sammy Swindell's record of 13.86 by almost a second. Of course we all know Bryan Clauson is going to give it all he has to break that record as well.
Some in the supermodified ranks feel the Nascar Cup record of 14.908 will be broken by almost two seconds and of course the 14.47 set by a Whelen Mod Tour car will also fall to those fast flying open wheel guys.
Wish I could attend this event, instead I will be anxiously awaiting the news out of Bristol and cheering for all three open wheel drivers to light up the place with speed. An yes, I will admit I will be cheering for Mike Lichty the loudest, have to my brother-in-law was part owner on Mike's uncle Dennis's supermodified back in the day as we like to say. Now my brother-in-law Steve and Dennis will watch this event from that racing venue in the sky, somehow I think they will be riding alongside Mike next Saturday.
Wish Mike, Brad and Bryan all the best at Bristol, show those fender fans what a real race car looks like and what they are missing guys!!!!!!
