Unfortunately, here in Minnesota, where we haven't had Traditional Sprint Car racing since the early 70's, fans hear "Sprint Car" and expect to see Wings.
The initial response to this new class has greatly exceeded the expectations of the UMSS & looks to have car counts rivaling the UMSS's Winged races.
The driving force behind the interest in this class is the use of a Midwest Mod (B-Mod) engine & happens to coincide with the decision of the regional mod sanction to require all MWMods to run a 3 link rear suspension, requiring expensive changes to many, if not most, of the existing cars. Estimated cost with a used motor & used roller is about $10,000.
Wish there was a better term to use than Non-Wing, but outside of Indiana, most Sprint Cars run Wings.
