The reason for the wing was safety back in the late 70's...it was proving that the wing absorbed impact and dissipated energy even thoug they made the car go faster... with todays cars being built better and more driver safety like hans and seats the non wing cars are on the rise cause of the better side by side racing along with not near the stress on motors because of the wing...

In my opinion you see closer racing with the 360 non wing sprints then ALL of sprint racing total...I do believe this is the future of sprint car racing....that is just this ole farts opinion
