The first full season for the new RRE Chevrolet ECOtec is drawing to a close. It was a 'learning' year for us and on balance I think it was a success. In California, Dillon Silverman has clinched second place in the BCRA Championship with his ECOtec. Just last weekend, Dillon came from 12th to 4th at the BCRA pavement race in Lakeport. He did that driving his dirt car, and without a whole lot of pavement experience... In Missouri, Richard Kriesel has had several good runs with his ECOtec, including qualifying for and finishing in the top ten at Kemper arena, in his firt time in a Midget! Several drivers have had top ten and top five finishes with their ECOtecs against 'traditional' Midgets this year, and remember, we really didn't develop this engine to run head to head with existing, conventional Midgets. But for next year, we'll have something designed EXACTLY for that....

We have begun development on the ECOtec 'ST2' - this will be a higher output version of the existing RRE ECOtec, designed to be fully competitive with 'conventional' Midget engines in short track situations. The engine will still feature the RRE electronic engine management system including sequential port fuel injection, variable valve timing and all the other features that make the ECOtec such an affordable, drivable and durable race engine.
