Kevin Miller was a high muckety muck at Mopar and rumored long to be the leading candidate to replace Rollie.
There are a lot of things about Owen that went wrong, some personal and some professional. He was not good with people. He did not run events very well at all as evidenced by a number of debacles.
All you have to do is to look at the three USAC divisions to see how the leadership has done.
USAC is on the verge of losing a hold on midget racing, if it has not done so already.
The national Sprint cars can't draw outside of IN, OH and perhaps CA.
And I think we all know the problems in the Silver Crown series.
Rollie's last day was 11/30.
Everyone knew Owen was a done deal as well.
They need to keep Staab around, bring back Bill Carey as well. They need to get Dick Jordan some real help to promote the organization through better and more timely media communication.
Miller also needs to watch the amount of cronyism and nepotism that's gone on all these years as well.
