UMRA Comes Back to Mount Lawn Saturday
By Alex Wollf
The 50th anniversary season of the Dutch Mill Buffet UMRA TQ Midgets rolls on Saturday night with the third race of the 2010 season at the Mount Lawn Speedway. Terry Goff will be looking to go three for three at the historic and scenic New Castle track with wins on June 19 and July 24. Both times that Terry has won at Mount Lawn this season he was followed to the finish line by his son Jason who will be eager to do one spot better at Mount Lawn this Saturday night.
There will be a pair of contingency awards that the drivers will be going for at Mount Lawn. The “Tony Stewart Rookie Challenge” will give $50 to the highest finishing rookie. Five gallons of fuel will go to the driver who advances the most positions in the feature event as the G&G Oil “Hard Charger of the Race.” A brand new kid’s bike will be given away to a lucky youngster on Saturday night so the young fans will want to get their parents to take them to Mount Lawn.
Gates open at three on Saturday with practice at 5:30, qualifying at 6:15, and racing set to begin at 7:30.
