Last Saturday, Jul 10: Gas City on the 2d night of Sprint Week had 44 cars; on the same night LPS had 44 cars. These are weekly racers, not travelling USAC regulars. They're probably not going to haul all over the state to run against the higher financed teams when LPS is their home track, they are treated well, the track has been good, and they have a better chance at the win/higher place. So, the bottom line is, LPS
doesn't take anything away from USAC Sprint Week and USAC doesn't take anything away from the LPS regular shows. Win/win for everyone. Local fans don't have to drive 300 miles (rt), don't have to fight the crowds for seats and parking, and the racing is just as good. I'll be at LPS tonight.
