Last night on the D.O. show Gregg Staab alluded to the possibility of USAC going to both Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL. and Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, AL. early in 2008. Nothing is certain as Staab is supposed to meet with the promoters within the week. He did not even mention whether it would be for sprints or midgets. I hope that these shows do come to pass. I have been to both tracks and either sprints or midgets would be good racing there. Also, if you are tired of being ripped off in Central Florida during Speedweeks it would be a good alternative. Both tracks are just south of I-10. Mobile is about 15 minutes west of I-65's junction with I-10 and Five Flags is maybe an hour or so east of I-65. Both are listed as 1/2 mile although Five Flags is a short half. It would make for a great early season trip.
I missed the show. Did D.O. happen to ask Mr. Staab about the Miller rumor that Mopar is taking over USAC?
