Having had to help make the call on three "photo finishes" for feature wins (two micro sprint races @ Pittsfield, and one modified feature finish last year @ Jacksonville), I thought I'd share a few of my thoughts on this deal. First off, kudos to Russ Harper for handling this deal in an adult manner, as not everyone would have behaved so well. Secondly, how many scorers does LPS have? (That is, do they have two, or do they have three, whereby you can break any ties), and did all the scorers have Cummings the winner? Thirdly, I know that at Pittsfield we actually had a video camera aimed right at the line just for the purpose of review in these situtions. Perhaps not a bad investment just to settle deals like this? Finally, and I know this is going to be a controversial theory, and it's not exactly backed up by any actual "study" by neurologists or optomotrists (LOL), but I do think that in EXTREMELY close finishes, more brightly colored cars sometimes get the nod from the scorers, even if it's subconcious. I wonder if this isn't what happened here?
