WHEEL PACKING must be a california thing. I remember going to Ascot and ALL the cars would pack a track just as muddy as Terre Haute Saturday in less than an hour. By the time they were done you could hardly tell it was a racecar due to all the mud on it. One water truck with big tires didnt pack anything. Right when Balou came out he started getting the job done. It only took 45 minutes for the rest of the guys to come out. Then some brilliant mind had a great idea of bringing the fans on the track with thier trucks. These guys started racing and making huge ruts in the track. Not only that, they were getting in the way of the sprint cars. Then for another hour a guy in a very small tractor started moving excess mud on a part of the track that isnt even used during the race. Total wasted time: 4 hours. The solution: push off all sprint cars only until the track is ready. I will continue to say that Kokomo and Gas City run a very smooth show each week and I have to keep supporting those two tracks because they actually get it....
