Regarding the tires. The tires that would be acceptable for the AMCT series were announced many, many weeks ago. In fact, I think it was actually months ago. Everyone, including myself, had the opportunity to buy either tire way in advance. So, everyone had the same opportunity to race with either tire. There were a few that apparently were frustrated at the track about the choice of tires. If you waited till race day to voice your concerns you were several months too late. That's the bottomline with the tires. Observation: Shane Cottle was running a Hoosier SP4 and he seemed to be getting around the track just fine with the supposed harder Hoosier. I think John Gurley's aim is too try to keep the costs of tires to a minimum and the American Racer is the cheaper tire. Is the purple tire company willing to reduce the costs of their tire? IDK, I haven't seen it happen in the 8 years I've been in this business. I just purchased $2000 worth of purple tires for various race org meets and I wasn't offered any discount.

We are seeing some dramatic issues being played out here, IOW. This series is opening some very interesting scenarios that haven't been challenged in a long, long time and the AMCT concept is dispelling a lot of theories that have been circulating for years and years. "You can't do this" and "this won't work"... "never happen". This is going to get very interesting.
