Based on all of the SFI reports, and the fact that Impact will not provide documentation for any suit produced before 2009, tells me a whole lot. There must be enough product questions about the safety of those suits to warrant that position by Impact. But the real key here is, IMO, you just don't know if a suit manufactured prior to 2009 meets SFI standards, or if it has nylon thread.
But since you don't know, is that a gamble that you're willing to take? 50% off the price of a new suit is something - but it's almost like Impact is admitting their guilt here. Like I said in an earlier post, I suspect lawyers will soon be all over this! After all, Impact produced a product that is now alleged to not do what is was supposed to do.....
