North of that, all the towns I have experienced have a small town wonderful feel, if that pace and space is what you like. The further south you go, the more forest and nature activities there are. Indianapolis is great, both Broad Ripple and downtown have fun walkable public areas, and you can't go wrong with a place named Speedway, within hearing distance of the track.
I don't live in Indiana anymore, but was just back visiting and was loving every minute. Here are three pics I took from my phone, we went to all three USAC shows Fri, Sat, Sun in Gas City, Lawrenceburg, and Kokomo April 16-18.
